The investigating judge as a factor in the system of checks and balances
Abstract
In this article the author reveals the peculiarities of the activities of the investigating judge in the pre-trial investigation stage. The peculiarities of the investigating judge in the activity as a key factor checks and balances system. Expands the task of the investigating judge in the implementation of judicial control without incurring a criminal prosecution function. It determines the practical significance of such action as the deposition of the victim’s testimony. It defines the powers of the investigating judge to monitor pretrial proceedings
