Improving the system of consumer protection of insurance services in the Republic of Uzbekistan

Thе article is devoted to the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of insurers in the services
provided by professional participants in the insurance market. The main goal of the article is to
further improve legislative and regulatory acts protecting the rights and legitimate interests of the insurer
(consumer), which is a party to the contract in civil law relations arising in the insurance industry; It is
proposed to amend and supplement the current legislation governing insurance services. The article deals with topical issues of protection of the rights and legitimate interests of insurers in
the provision of insurance services by professional participants of the insurance market. The subject of
the research was the norms of national and foreign legislation, doctrinal opinions of domestic and foreign
scientists, judicial and law enforcement practice to protect the rights of insurers as a party to insurance
contracts. The main goal is to further improve the laws and regulations that protect the rights and legitimate
interests of the insurer (consumer) who is a party to the contract in civil law relations arising in the
field of insurance.
Proposed amendments and additions to the civil legislation regulating insurance services, the expansion
of the rights of the insured by regulating the freedom of obtaining insurance services, information
on financial stability is not a trade secret, the concurrent property insurance, lives in several insurance
organizations (co-insurance), assignments of beneficiaries (individuals or entities) to receive insurance
payments under insurance contracts, the possibility of replacement of the insured person or beneficiary,
receiving insurance compensation within the insurance amount specified in the contract, upon
the occurrence of an insured event stipulated in the insurance contract, claiming compensation for nonpecuniary
damage and receiving compensation for it; obtaining insurance compensation for low-quality
service by an insurance company in accordance with the law “on consumer protection”, applying to the
court for protection of rights in cases arising from the insurance contract, as well as assigning the following
additional obligations to the policyholder, including providing reliable and accurate information on
the insurer’s issues about cases that will be determined before the conclusion of the contract, notifying
the insurer of any insured event, ensuring the safety of the insured property during the validity of the
insurance contract, etc.
