Fighting pedophilia

Abstract

Pedophilia – a terrible phenomenon in any of its manifestations, and unfortunately, is rapidly progressing in the modern world. On the basis of the analysis of various scientific researches, the author defined the concept of «pedophilia», as well as persons who are pedophiles. The problem aspects of the impact of this criminal act on the child’s psyche and on the role of the family in rehabilitating the child’s psyche are touched upon. The author also expresses an opinion on pedophilia, as a constituent part of the criminal’s personality. The relevance of the topic of research is due to the fact that at the moment there is a problem of the effectiveness of punishment for pedophilia in Kazakhstan. The author reveals the need to define the concept of pedophilia within the framework of the Kazakh legal and regulatory framework. In addition to analyzing the regulatory framework, it is necessary to analyze the prospects for using positive experience in other countries. The nature of sexual assault against children in Kazakhstan is compared. On the basis of the analysis, the author reveals the actual problem of studying new approaches to the criminal legal protection of children from these crimes.
