On the issue of beys as custodians of the legal culture of the Kazakh people

Abstract

This article views position of biys in the history of Kazakh nation. Kazakh biys carried out many functions. The most signifi cant
among all functions is function of achieving compromises in society. Biys secured prevention of disputes and argues among relatives,
were people who united Kazakh families into one Kazakh nation.
