Journal of actual problems of jurisprudence

The Journal of actual problems of jurisprudence was established in 1992.
The founder and publisher of the journal is Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The journal has approved cover and title pages indicating the university, issue publication data, ISSN, eISSN, editorial board composition, editorial policy, publication ethics, and website.

The journal is published quarterly (4 issues per year).

Articles published in the journal are registered with the CrossRef database, and each author’s article is assigned a DOI — a digital object identifier used to ensure citation, referencing, and access to electronic documents.

The journal is indexed in the Kazakhstan Citation Database (KazBC) of JSC “National Center for State Scientific and Technical Expertise” (NCSTE). It is also available in open access on the Scientific Electronic Library elibrary.ru and included in the analytical database “Russian Science Citation Index” (RSCI).

The editorial board of the journal includes leading Kazakhstani and international scholars.

The journal follows a policy of information openness and accessibility of author publications. All articles are published on the journal’s website in three languages and are available in full-text format.

Aims of the journal:
To publish the results of scientific research and articles by scholars specializing in the fields of law and international legal studies.

Founded as a leading periodical for socio-legal research, The Journal of actual problems of jurisprudence offers an interdisciplinary approach, seeks to achieve broad international appeal, attract diverse scholarly contributions, and address issues arising from a wide range of legal relations, as well as theoretical and practical problems of public relevance.

The main objectives of the journal are:

  • To consolidate and develop legal doctrines at national and international levels in the formation of a rule-of-law state and civil society within the scientific publication sphere.

  • To promote advanced concepts and practices of effective governance in research, innovation, and educational activities among leading scholars both in Kazakhstan and abroad.

  • To enhance the professional level of scholars in the field of jurisprudence and related disciplines.

  • To enrich the experience of the law school by fostering critical analysis of the assumptions and theories underlying the law school curriculum.

  • To create an open scientific dialogue within the academic community and ensure the exchange of experience among scholars.

  • To make available to the scientific community the results and scientific novelties of researchers.

  • To expand the academic frontier by providing open access through the university’s digital resources and online platforms.

Thematic scope of the journal:
The journal covers a wide range of topical issues in legal science, the theory of state and law, as well as all branches of Kazakhstani and international jurisprudence. Articles are published in the following sections of legal studies:

  • Theory and history of state and law;

  • Constitutional and administrative law;

  • Civil and labor law;

  • Natural resources and environmental law;

  • Criminal law and procedure, criminology;

  • International relations and international law.

Publication fee:
Authors whose manuscripts have been accepted for publication are required to pay the publication fee in accordance with the approved price list for scientific journals of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. According to the approved tariff, the publication fee per article is 60,000 KZT. In exceptional cases, if other sources of funding for the journal series are available, authors may be fully or partially exempted from payment.
