Environmental risks and insurance: the experience of Russia and developed countries, the comparative analysis.

Abstract

The questions of environmental safety. The lack of clear mechanisms to determine the extent of damage is a major problem in this direction. Deepening of market reforms in the Russian economy, the change in ownership structure requires the introduction of methods of economic regulation in the field of environmental protection and effective mechanisms for environmental management. One such mechanism is the environmental insurance. However, despite considerable support for environmental insurance by environmental agencies, commercial insurance companies and regional governments, as well as practical experience, there are still significant problems in the methodological support to assess damage.
